The Appenzell Region of Switzerland - Cows, Cheese and Yodels

It is a massive understatement to say that the Appenzell region of Switzerland has character. Appenzell is exactly how you hope the German part of Switzerland will be. Well-known among the Swiss as the most traditional area in the country, its inhabitants remain astoundingly true to their roots.

We have noticed that you are a member of the New Zealand Group and in the travel business.  We own and operate Lone Kauri Lodge Karekare, a small secluded B & B in the Waitakere Ranges, an area of exceptional natural beauty just under an hour from Auckland’s city centre and airport.

70% of our guests are from overseas and typically they stay with us at the beginning of their holiday to recuperate after  a long flight or at the end to reflect on their time in NZ before the journey home.

We invite you to take a look at our web site www.lonekaurilodge.co.nz

Happy to have you part of IFWTWA group at Tripatini. We welcome your comments and know we need to get some threads going soon. Since we recently set up the account, I've been waiting for a few more members.

Best,
Maralyn

Good afternoon, Melanie, and welcome to Tripatini! It's great to have you with us -- and we think you'll find our site productive as well as interesting and enjoyable.

To get the most out of Tripatini, you may want to take a moment to join several of our many other groups which you may find of particular interest, such as Media Only, New York State, Eating/Drinking the World, Luxury Travel, Family Travel, Eco/Sustainable Tourism, and plenty of others covering many other topics and most destinations across the globe.

FYI, on your profile you'll see a green bar marked "Text Box," which you can turn into a box containing not just text but also photos and even videos about yourself, your interests, your travels, and your writing/outlets.

Finally, if you would, please be so kind as to spread the word among your travel-interested friends, family, colleagues, associates, and readers. It's fast and easy to use our "INVITE" function above left on the navigation bar to enter e-mails (even your whole list at once!). If you have the chance to cover us in any of your outlets, that would be great, and if you might be interested in blogging for us on occasion rates/guidelines are available upon request.

Thanks much for joining us, Melanie; we wish you an outstanding rest of 2009 and look forward to seeing you online.

Cheers!
