Canada has made a few changes to the travel documents that are required to visit the country. Canada eTA or Canada Electronic Travel Authorization is the document that a person visiting from a country that does not need a visa requires. You need it even if you are just transiting. If you are from a country that needs a visa then you do not need eTA. If you are a citizen of the United States of America then you are exempt and you do not need Electronic Travel Authorization. You can easily get eTA by submitting a form. It is easy to fill and the process is relatively inexpensive. eTA is valid for 5 years and it is better to apply well in advance for the same.
