9008753460?profile=originalThe Shwezigon Pagoda in Bagan is one of the real highlights among the classic Myanmar pagodas. This Buddhist temple can only be matched by the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon. The name means (golden Land of Victory) and the pagoda was built from 1084 to 1112. The proportions and the nature of the decorations are in the classic Bagan Pagoda style.

The massive proportions as well as other upper Myanmar or Burma pagodas , the are characteristic. This is the most venerated pagoda in Bagan and together with the Mahamuni Temple at Mandalay the greatest Buddhist pagoda in central Myanmar and northern Myanmar.
