The Hampton Classic: August 23-30, 2015

The Hampton Classic Horse Show is the largest and most spectacular hunter/jumper horse show in the US. Approximately 50,000 spectators attend the Classic annually. With over 1,600 horses and more than $750,000 in prize money, the Classic is considered a major sporting event and a fabulous week long social event in the Hamptons. The $250,000 Grand Prix, presented by LONGINES, will take place on Sunday afternoon on August 30th and is one of the highlights of the Classic. Not only does it feature the highest levels of equestrian competition, but it also draws masses of spectators and celebrities to the Bridgehampton show grounds.

In 2009, the Hampton Classic became only the second horse show ever to receive the status of Heritage Competition by the United States Equestrian Federation.  This prestigious status is reserved for competitions that have been in existence for at least 25 years and have provided for their communities as well as the horse community as a whole in an unprecedented fashion.

The event attracts over 90 corporate sponsors from many business sectors. LONGINES, Douglas Elliman, iHeartRadio, Land Rover, Jaguar, Royalton Farms and Campbell Stables lead a host new and returning corporate sponsors.

The Classic provides spectators with a spectacular horse show, as well as a full entertainment event, including acres of tenting, a boutique garden filled with many shops, 18 gourmet food options scattered throughout the show grounds for riders and spectators to enjoy, and stalls housing more than a thousand horses.

From Steven Spielberg to Matt Lauer, Bruce Springsteen to Billy Joel and Jerry Seinfeld to Kelly Ripa, there are numerous celebrities who have historically attended the Hampton Classic. It's the “Hollywood” Horse Show.

Since 1977, the Hampton Classic has made annual financial contributions totaling more than one-and-three-quarter million dollars to its official community partner, Southampton Hospital. The Classic also supports many other non-profit organizations and equestrian related charities such as ASPCA, JustWorld International, Sag Harbor Food Pantry, the Long Island Horse Show Series for Riders with Disabilities and the Bridgehampton Fire Department. The Hampton Classic is an event with a deep economic impact on the local community.
