 Sikkim Gangtok with North Sikkim in February

Sikkim, a tiny state in North East of India, is always in the mind of nature lovers tourists. 

This February 2020, we planned for a Sikkim Gangtok Tour Package, mainly to enjoy the snow in North Sikkim. We have a dream for many years that we will enjoy the snow in Sikkim and finally decided to visit Sikkim in February 2020.

Lachen

The gateway to the Paradise of Sikkim

Lachen, in North Sikkim, located at an altitude of 9,000 feet on the mountain slope, overlooking the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. Lachen is one of the amongst most picturesque spots and is a small hamlet surrounded by green mountains on all sides and highly blessed by Mother Nature in the form of scenic beauty. In the winter, Lachen greeted us with freezing snow. The roads, the trees, the slanted roofs of the houses get covered with snow turning the small village into a romantic world.

Lachung - Mother Nature has designed Sikkim like a crown with gems placed at different parts, making the state one of the most picturesque in the entire planet. The Northern part of Sikkim is the most shining as mother nature put the biggest gems here. At an elevation of over 9,600 feet, Located on the lap of a rugged mountain at the confluence of two tributaries of the Teesta, Lachung is a small village with a low population and a picturesque hamlet that remains covered with snow till early March.

Sikkim Gangtok Tour  - Detail itinerary -6 Night / 7 Days

Day 1 – Arrive Bagdogra Airport and travel to  Gangtok in a private car in 5.5 hrs

Night Stay in Gangtok

Day 2 – Post breakfast, the whole day is reserved for Gangtok local sightseeing

Day 3 – Tour operator completed the permit procedure to travel to North Sikkim and started for Lachen at around 10.30 am

On the way,  few sightseeing places covered

Day 4 – Woke up early morning at around 3.30 am and it was really a freezing cold. Started towards Gurudognmer Lake at around 4 am and Tea is served at Thangu by Indian Army and finally reached Gurudongmer lake.

It was an amazing breath taking view with full white snow, only at the corner there is blue water.

It was our luck that we could get the required permit to visit the lake.

Back to Lachen Hotel and had our lunch.

Post lunch, started for Lachung and reached there at around 5 pm.

Day 5 – Yumthang Valley Excursion with full of white snow, Played a lot with our own made snowball. Kids enjoyed it a lot.

Transfer to Gangtok.

Day 6 – Day excursion to Changu Lake, Baba Mandir and Nathula Pass ( No Permit) 

The most enjoyable day of the trip. Played a lot with white snowy flakes and walked, danced on top of frozen change lake. It was simply unbelievable.

Day 7 – Post breakfast, return with sweet memories as the best souvenir of our trip.
