Bourtzi

This small island inside the port of Nafplio, well known for its well-preserved fortress dating back to the Venetian times. Bourtzi is undoubtedly one of this city's most most photographed sites.

Palamidi

The castle of Nafplio was built by the Venetians colonists in 1867. Palamidi can be reached either by car or by ascending its 999 steps. The fortress has been used as a prison in the past.
