A Dark Anniversary for Britain's East Coast

Anyone who thinks the British weather is getting wilder with each passing year should cast their mind back to this day 60 years ago.  On the night of 31st January to 1st February 1953 the east coast of Britain experienced one of the most catastrophic weather events in the nation's history when it was pummelled by violent storms which resulted in the loss of hundreds of lives.  Many of those whose lives were spared found themselves on rooftops awaiting rescue.

Hurricanes pose danger to travelers

Whether travelling locally or abroad.  It is wise to best check the path of any severe weather.  While such storms can be an annoyance causing delays, flight cancellations, and trip deviations, they can be much worse.  I have travelled with some that  say that "It is nothing.", or "I've been through it before."  But it is always worse than they care to admit.  Others seek danger and look to stare the hurricane in its face-  tempting it, taunting it, daring it to harm them.

Weather in the Seychelles

The Weather of the Seychelles is relatively stable year round and The Seychelles islands do not experience weather extremes. Many people ask me when is it Winter in the Seychelles- my answer never!!
