Located on the south coast of the England about just over two hours by road or rail from London is one of the most unusual of any British city. Bournemouth (pop. 184,000) has almost Mediterranean climate, breathtaking sea views, palm trees growing on every street, and golden sandy beaches, whilst just beyond lie a green belt including inviting national parks. The perfect location to get away from the busy and stressful life and enjoy some sunlight and fresh air, one of Britain's first seaside resorts continues to attract millions of visitors every year, and quite a few of them decide to relocate here thanks to its amenities and quality of life. There are actually two piers in town, and depending on how much time you have to explore, I'd advise prioritising visit Bournemouth Pier, perfect place if you are searching for adventure and some quality time with your children. At the pier is located the famous RockReef adventure centre, offering among other things all kinds of climbing experiences, an exploration cave, and even the UK's first dual zip line, stretching from the end of the pier to the coast - an amazing 30 seconds flying over the waves and sandy beaches. Or visit the arcade and play some your favourite games, and have a bite or a cuppa at one of the many food places. The recently restored Boscombe Pier is smaller and more suitable for a relaxing walk providing a great view of the town and the coastline, with lots of places to sit. A couple of specially designed musical instruments are placed on different spots on the pier, so if you feel like it, you can play your favourite tune while enjoying the sea view.
City of Festivals and Celebrations
One of the reasons Bournemouth is so popular among visitors is its many colourful festivals. If you are planning to make Bournemouth your future home, keep in mind that during the warm months the town is packed with people. And how not? The amazing Arts by the Sea Festival has been the main attraction since its launching in 2012, showcasing different forms of art mixed with innovative thinking and futuristic technologies. For all the food lovers out there, Bournemouth has a ten-day Food and Drink Festival in which you can try all different kinds of cuisine. However, nothing can top the unique Bournemouth’s Air Festival. Started in 2008, the breathtaking air shows are performed by the Red Arrows - one of the best The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team. Every year they present their master skills in front of millions of people performing dangerous aerial stunts.
