Bolivia: salt flats & FLAMINGOS!

The Uyuni salt flats in Bolivia were mind-blowing.  Perhaps you've seen pictures?  Photographs of optical illusions created by posing close to the camera with distant objects appearing much larger/smaller in contrast.  The challenge is to come up with new poses.  We did our best!

After the tour of the salt flats, we continued to the high desert to explore high-altitude lagoons surrounded by moon-scape terrain and snow-capped volcanoes.  And there we found one of the treasures of our whole trip.  Flamingos.  Lots of flamingos.  Attracted by the plankton, they flock to the lagoons for food.  They fly, feed, flap and squawk.  My shutter finger got cramped from snapping photos.  I created a slide show of nothing but flamingos.
