just got back from Halong cruise with Alova sails.
Alova sails is actually run by Go Asia Travel.
We took the day trip with Alova sails , and the boat provided was Halong 10, not the actual Alova sails for overnight stay.
We are quite pleased with the day trip, food was above average, guide was friendly and efficient. We put up on land at the Asean Halong Hotel, not a great hotel though it was rated 4-star(I think it is better to stay at Novotel or Saigon Halong)- please see my review on Asean Halong (The hotel was big but run down and not very clean- but the staff are rather helpful)
I must say Alova sail's staff and Vivu Travel (from whom we booked the tour) was reliable- no hanky panky.
Met a group of six people from England and Sweeden who were on the overnight cruise at Alova sails- and they claimed the overnight ship was excellent.
