Why You Should Visit Your Friends in Dubai

Some people make the strangest decisions. Deciding against the gloomy grey skies and lukewarm summers (and winters) of the UK – they pack their bags and move to Dubai.

What a strange decision! I mean, the wages are great for teachers and other skilled workers. And the weather is reliably hot and sunny. Plus, there are plenty of beaches, places to shop, art galleries and sporting events… Who’d want all of that?

If you’re one of the unfortunate people who has had one of their nearest and dearest up sticks and move to Dubai; don’t frown. There are plenty of reasons why you should challenge your prejudices, and go visit your friends in Dubai.

1. The weather is fantastic

If you’re not a fan of the heat, you may have imagined that you could never handle visiting a Middle Eastern country like Dubai. Granted, during the summer temperatures can rise to up-to 45 degrees but if you plan your trip for the cooler winter months (January – March) you could enjoy the very manageable 25 degrees.

2. Beautiful Scenery

Whether the towering skyline of Dubai appeals to your aesthetic taste or you prefer the natural landscape – you will be blown away by how beautiful Dubai can be.

If you take a flight from the UK to Dubai, you’re in a fairly good position to make demands from your host. Indulge in some tourist activities! You could take a speedboat around the marina or go on a desert safari. It’s the perfect way to experience a part of the world that couldn’t be further from the British landscape.

3. Culture

Dubai has grown at a speed no one could have predicted 40 years ago. As a result, a lot of what you see of the city is modern buildings and luxury lifestyles. But Dubai existed before it became a hub of business and there is traditional culture to be found here. You could head to a Souk to shop for Arabic gold, or try a traditional Arabic coffee.

While you will find people from all walks of life in Dubai, you will also meet locals whose culture is one of the most hospitable on earth.

4. Enjoy world-class sports

What’s the good in having friends who live in different places around the world, unless you can take advantage of their hospitality when you want to go to a sporting event? If you have a friend with a couch to spare (or even a spare room) you could attending the F1 at Yas Marina or watching the golf at the DP World Tour.

5. Eat, relax and catch up

Of all the reasons to visit your friends in Dubai, catching up is the most important.

Dubai offers many things. Entertainment, world-class food, sporting events and great weather. But these are just extra reasons to head over and spend some time with a friend who lives abroad. With flights from London to Dubai flying several times a day – there’s no excuse.

So, get on the phone, contact your friend, and plan that visit!
