Hawaii

Each island of the Aloha State offers something a little bit different, from big-city vibe of Honolulu/Waikiki on Oahu to the rustic back country of Molokai and Lanai. Agritourism and Hawaiian cultural tourism are also on the rise.

Anyone interested in agritourism?  I took a trip to Maui and wrote up some of the top ag operations that accept visitors: check it out in the blog.

My wife says that this trip, she wants a warm tropical beach. OK, we'll do that. To get in the mood for it, we'll take a look at Maui today on The World on Wheels: http://tinyurl.com/yf87e42

See my question about a strange variety of medical tourism to Hawaii. And tell me what you think.

Aloha! As of today, Honolulu's airport will begin broadcasting a welcome message in Hawaiian as well as English every half hour. This is a great step forward in the struggle to keep minority languages alive. Wouldn't it be cool to land in, say, Miami, and see welcome messages not only in English, Spanish, French, and German, but also Miccosukee?
