Paradores ...search for these in Spain...lots of info...great places to stay.

David, you're cramming much too much into this itinerary. You would not be bored spending a week in Barcelona and a week in Sevilla. Or a lifetime! But you are right to want to see the Alhambra and the mosque in Cordoba, so eliminate Malaga and Ronda.

In Granada stay at the Alhambra Hotel if you can afford it, because its a 4-star with historic meaning and fabulous views. And Tony is totally right: Look for Paradores, too. Some are new and some are historic. Here is a site in English http://www.paradores-spain.com/

Hi David,

In Barcelona I would recommend the Hotel Catalonia Plaza Cataluña, formerly the Ducs the Bergara. It's a 4-star property in a gorgeous turn-of-the-century building a skip and a hop away from the Ramblas and Plaza de Cataluña. I think you'll be very happy here. We stayed there when it was the Ducs, and it can only have improved since the acquisition.

For the other locations, I agree with the other guys, definitely look into the Paradores; you can't beat the experience. Enjoy your trip!

Lovely hotel. The cast iron staircase in the lobby is beautiful. It is off Plaza de Cataluna. The rooms are rather small. If you are taller than 6'0" the bed might be a issue in some of the rooms. I stayed there a couple of times.
