  • Hi Sally,

I just responded to your comment on Food (for the holidays) but I thought I would sent it to you directly as well:

In response to Sally's question regarding the foods related to the holidays, this is what i can tell you about my native country: France:

Foie gras, oysters, escargots and smoked salmon are often part of the Christmas menu.

Turkey (with chestnuts) is the traditional dish of New year eve.

Dessert is the Buche de Noel ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B%C3%BBche_de_No%C3%ABl )

Of course, you have regional traditions too...but it would take a long time to go through them!

The best place to see (and buy) these specialties is the famous upscale Parisian caterer Fauchon:

    Happy Holidays!
