Pandaw River Cruises

What you should know about Pandaw cruises. The RV Mekong Pandaw was designed especially for the Mekong. The most spacious ship in the Pandaw fleet, she has a 750 square metre teak deck equipped with a full size billiard table, wider promenades, a larger dining hall and more public space per passenger than any known ship afloat. Refitted in 2013, she is equipped with a professional spa, gym, small cinema, library and lounge.

Pandaw founder Paul Strachan has been nominated for a global tourism industry award by PURELife Experiences, one of the world’s leading upmarket tourism trade bodies. Paul is one of five “visionary” industry pioneers shortlisted for their Contribution to Experiential Travel. In a statement, the judges said:  "When it came to Contribution to Experiential Travel, our panel was looking for individuals whose efforts have directly influenced the development of the experiential travel movement – true mavericks whose commitment, curiosity and daring sets new standards for the industry at large." The winner will be announced PURE’s glittering awards ceremony on September 13.

About Pandaw
Founded in 1995 by Scotsman and Burmese historian Paul Strachan with the re-building of an original Clyde-built steamer called Pandaw, the company can trace its roots back to the original Irrawaddy Flotilla Company, founded by Scots merchants in 1865. Still a family-run company, Pandaw was the first company to offer expeditions on both the Irrawaddy and Chindwin Rivers and has almost 20 years’ experience navigating three of the great rivers of South East Asia. Pandaw operates cruises in Burma, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, China and Borneo from June to April.
