In Vietnam, there are many beautiful beaches and if you come to our country for the first time, it would be a matter to decide which beach to choose. As a local expert, we hope to share with you our experience on this.
In the North of Vietnam, Cat Ba Island’s beaches are usually preferred by young people as beside the beaches there are many activities for an active beach break (Please read our article “Cat Ba Island – a great choice for summer escape”)! There, the beaches are quite secluded and calm. Moreover, Cat Ba isn’t too far from Hanoi (around 4-4.30 hours by bus and boat) and on the island, there are many choices of accommodation from guesthouses, standard hotels up to 4 star superior hotels.
The season not to go there is around Aug-Sept as it is in raining season. Tourists can be stuck on the island for days if there is a typhoon or bad weather and boats are not allowed to be operated. Except these two months, likely you can go to Cat Ba during all other months, even in the winter seemingly.
In the Centre of Vietnam, Hue beach, Lang Co beach, Danang beach or Hoi An beach are good for your choice. From the Centre to South of Vietnam, the sea water is very clear & blue, accommodation is from standard guesthouses to deluxe even luxury resorts. The only low point is there aren’t many water activities for active or thrill seekers. Nevertheless great thing is that you can easily enrich experience of your beach tour with culture/history/explorations around Hue, Danang, and Hoi An. So if you are looking for a relaxing beach break combined with local life discovering then these places will be great choice.
Note: The season to avoid going there is around Sep-Nov (raining season).
In the South of Vietnam, from the North going Southbound, there’re more choices such as Nha Trang, Mui Ne (Phan Thiet), Con Dao and Phu Quoc. These places offer the most beautiful beaches of Vietnam, in addition there’re more hotel categories to choose. Whatever your budget, you can find a suitable accommodation and enjoy the tropic sun and sand beaches with many water activities (snorkelling, diving, sailing, kayaking, cruising).
For Mui Ne (Phan Thiet), you can go year around. For other beaches, please avoid Oct-Dec (Nha Trang), May-Nov (Con Dao) and Jun-Sept (Phu Quoc)!
Vietnam coastline offers some of the Asia’s top beautiful beaches and not yet jammed and crowded as Thailand’s beaches. Why not choose Vietnam for your beach holiday?
