Unique things to do in Hanoi

Speaking of Hanoi, I bet you've read many articles about where to go, what to eat,... during your stay in Hanoi. That may sound boring because everybody is talking about it.

Hanoi has so many other places and things waiting for you to explore. Here we list down some of the most Unique Things to do in Hanoi.

1. Walk down the Train Street

The train street is located between Le Duan and Kham Tien street. The exact lane the train passes along is called Ngo 224 Le Duan Street.

A train hurtles through a series of narrow streets at 3p.m and 7p.m everyday. What interesting is that how narrow these streets are. The railroad tracks take up nearly the entirety of the Train Street while in 2 sides of the railroads there are residents' stuff like bikes, drying clothes,...

When the train passes, it would be some kind of horrifying moments, but still it's worth a try. Because this is a list of Unique things to do in Hanoi, right?

2. Spend the night on the street:

Hanoi is a vibrant and busy city with all that crowded and noisy streets. However, as a political head quarter of a whole country, every activities will be limited after 11p.m. After 11p.m, there's less people on the street, even shops, bars and clubs in the Old Quarter need to be closed.

There is only a street that opens 24/24, 7 days a week in Hanoi, which is Tong Duy Tan Street. All the shops and business here open throughout the night.

Cafe shops, restaurants and street food vendors,... there are actually many things to do if you want to spend a whole night here.

3. Taste some egg coffee

Vietnamese is world-famous for its coffee, you know it! There are many kinds of coffee in the world: cappuccino, latte, espresso,... But have you ever heard of Egg Coffee? Yep, the one that is made from eggs?

It may "sound" a little fishy for some people. However, I've never found anyone that doesn't like Egg Coffee. It's one of the best. It totally doesn't taste fishy at all, it tastes so good and yummy.

Tasting Egg Coffee surely tops the list of Unique things to do in Hanoi.

4. Get an ao dai

Ao dai is the traditional costume of Vietnam. You might want to buy one during your trip to Vietnam.

There are plenty of places in Hanoi where you can pick one out, however, I recommend you go to the Old Quarter. They have some of the best fabric and design and even tailoring services to fit in your body shape.

5. Get on a motorbike tour

So you've seen all the streets here in Hanoi. It's crowded with hundreds of motorbikes, right? It might be an interesting scene for first time travellers to Hanoi.

But it would be even cooler if you got a chance to sit on one of those motorbikes and go on a tour around Hanoi. Luckily, your wish might come true, you can totally go on a Hanoi Motorbike Tour and experience the streets of Hanoi like a real local.

6. Ride a swan around West Lake

No, too bad this is not real swans. It's swan boats. You can hire a swan boat and ride it around West Lake. West Lake has a beautiful and peaceful scenery. It's the best if you can enjoy the view, feel the breeze and listen to the music of the lake. Let your mind be at peace and relax from all the stress.

For anyone who wants to get out of the busy life for a little bit, this is a worth trying thing to do. Unique and super helpful!
