Things to See and Do Around Orlando

Every year, millions of tourists flock to Orlando, making it one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. As hard as it may be to believe, the popularity of this tourist mecca is only increasing. Part of the reason for this is the amount of theme parks that are being built in the region. Walt Disney World was the first in the early 1970s. Since then, other large corporations have decided that Orlando is an ideal location to set up shop. Nowadays, not matter what your interests are, there is a theme park that can accommodate you. Here are some of the things to see and do around Orlando, Florida.

Wet 'N Wild

Wet 'N Wild was one of Florida's initial water parks. Since then, there have been many imitators, but few of the newer water parks have been able to match the fun and charm of this one. There is a very good reason why many water park enthusiasts from around the world still regard Wet 'N Wild as one of the best. This is a perfect place to take the entire family, as there is enough entertainment to occupy the attention of a person from any age group. There are plenty of water slides, flumes, raft rides, chutes, raft rides and a wave pool. Some of the rides are specially made for multiple people to go on it at the same time. You will be able to accompany your younger children that may be too scared to go on it alone. Not all of the water rides are made to get your adrenaline pumping. There is also an inner tube ride called the Lazy River. It got this name because a person can just relax in an inner tube and leisurely float down the river. Needless to say, this is a great place to visit on a particularly hot day when you need to stay cool.

Typhoon Lagoon

Another one of the many water parks you can find in Florida is called Typhoon Lagoon. This is yet another park that is owned and operated by the Disney company. Because of this, visitors to the park can expect the same level of quality and hospitality that are hallmarks of the other parks that the company owns. It is well worth the price of admission, with no shortage of activities to keep you cooled off on a hot day. People who have always wanted to experience the thrill of surfing can do so with a visit to the wave pool. While it may not feel exactly like surfing in the ocean, it is the next best thing. If you will be bringing very young children to the park, you are in luck. There are specially designed parts of the park that will be able to accommodate young children. As for the more daring people out there, they might want to pay a visit to Shark Reef. This is a place that enables brave individuals to swim with different types of sharks. If this is something you have always dreamed of doing, it will be safe to do it in a controlled environment like Typhoon Lagoon. Just make sure you do not have a heart condition.
