Chapter 1: Hanoi City
Hanoi City is the peaceful and elegant capital of Vietnam and located in the heart of the northern Red River Delta, and is a city of trees, lakes, streets full of yellow leaves in the autumn. October 2010 officially marked 1000 years of this city. And became the official capital of independent Vietnam in 1954 after liberation army defeated the French. Hanoi streets are named after heroes, who have contributed to the country or the historic character of Vietnam. Today, Hanoi is fast becoming one of the most bustling and interesting cities in South East Asia and Asia. Cultural characteristics of Vietnam is clearly demonstrated through culinary and life of Hanoi people. From Hanoi, you can easily visit one of the new seven wonders of the world - Halong Bay, or go to the town of fog Sapa, in the Hoang Lien Mountains inhabited by several hill tribes.
