Morzine Bike Park

For mountain biking fans, the town or Morzine is one of the most desirable locations in Europe. The town is on the border of France and Switzerland, right up in the Alps, and is surrounded by wilderness, forest and mountains, making it the ideal location for a mountain biker to take a holiday and enjoy the many trails in the area. In more recent years, the area around Morzine, known as the Portes du Soleil, have become very popular with mountain biking tours, and has become an indicator of real skill and effort, so that most bike riders really want to visit the town at least once in their lives. Morzine, one of several towns in the area to offer mountain bike holidays, also has a range of trails to satisfy the needs of every biker from beginner to expert.

What does Morzine have to offer the Mountain Biker?

The central focus for every biker coming to the town is the Morzine bike part. This is a series of trails and interconnected parks that connect the town to its closest neighbours, offering experienced bikers a range of challenges and rides, which can range from difficult to easy within a few feet of each other. The town has at least 650km of bike trails which are clearly laid out and defined, as well as a series of permanent trails going downhill, and an enormous number of unmarked bike trails leading into the woods and the hillsides around the town. You can find a range of different trails to suit your skills, including very steep and some which are suitable for XC biking.

What else is there to do in Morzine?

In addition to the bike rides, there are also lots more things to do in Morzine, which is particularly ideal if you want to bring a partner or spouse who is not interested in the local rides. They may enjoy travelling over the border to the shopping towns of Switzerland, or taking a bus ride to skiing and other winter sports in towns which are close to the biking areas. They may also like the walks, with plenty of greenery and hills designed for rambling. If you want to spend time in Morzine, then you may also appreciate some of the festivals, including music and theatre, which are held here during the summer months. In the winter, Morzine will be mainly closed due to heavy snow which makes the paths unsuitable for riding.
