Casa Casuarina becomes The Villa by Barton G.

Casa Casuarina, the former Gianni Versace opulent mansion on South Beach, has a new operator: Barton G. Weiss, flamboyant food and event impresario. It is now an event space, restaurant, and boutique hotel, where the Barton G. adorns the flag that hangs outside of Versace’s bedroom on the third floor.

There are only ten suites, each one of them with its own butler, who will ensure every single desire of the guest. There is no concierge (the personal butler will be doing the job), and no lobby, and the doors are permanently closed for perfect privacy and confidentiality. The restaurant which only seats 70, and where reservations are required, is serving Barton G’s cuisine off of original Versace dinnerware. Daily afternoon tea is served to the public at 30$ per person. Room rates range from around $2,100 to $5,000 a night.

Algodon Mansion opening in Buenos Aires

Located in the heart of Buenos Aires’ most elegant residential neighborhood, Recoleta, this luxury hotel is a landmarked property originally erected in 1912, and fashioned in French Classical design. The Algodon Wine Estates and Champions Club own it, which is one of Argentina’s premier Malbec wine producers.

The mansion has been impeccably restored, yet re-imagined with inspired contemporary elegance and sophistication; its 10 opulent suites are decorated with furniture from B&B Italian and Cappellini, Italian marble, hand-carved stone and original artworks, all have dazzling views of a private and distinctly Babylonian four-story waterfall and hanging garden. Amenities include a 24-hour butler for each suite, a restaurant called Chez Nous serving French cuisine in an intimate setting, a rooftop swimming pool, a spa and a cognac bar with a selection of "premium handcrafted cigars".
