Kaziranga National Park is situated in the Indian state of Assam. The park is known as the abode of rhinoceros. It is said that the picturesque reserve gives shelter to almost two-thirds of the total population of one-horned rhinos on Earth. The Park is around 200 kms north eastern city of Guwahati, covers an area of 450sq kms with an addition of 400 kms. Kaziranga is situated on the southern bank of mighty river Brahmaputra. The landscape of Kaziranga comprises the sheer forest, marshes & shallow pools, rugged reeds; tall elephant grass etc. In the year of 1985 the park is get listed among world heritage sites.

Accessibility of Kaziranga Park
Airport: There are two airport near the park one is at Guwahati, which is at the distance of 217 kms. And another is located at Jorhat, which is just 96kms away from the park.

Railhead: The nearest railway station is around 75 kms away form kaziranga at Furkating.

Road Transport: The main entry gate is known as Kohora which is on NH-37. Asam State Transport Corporation and private buses stop here on their way to and from nearest cities.

Accommodation facilities in Kaziranga National Park
Most of the resorts in kaziranga are along the southern border of kaziranga national park and are located along the NH-37. Kohora and Baguri are the main location of accommodation in kaziranga national park. There is a variety of resorts and hotels to accommodate while kaziranga tour. Even though the number of rooms available is good, the demand is more than the supply and it is advisable to make your bookings well in advance to avoid last minute harassment.
