When visiting Hanoi, what is a better way to enjoy the city by walking around the streets and taste some of the most delicious Vietnamese street food on a foodie adventure? Strolling around Hanoi old quarter, learning about the local food recipe also allows you to have a glimpse of Vietnamese food and even a little bit about Vietnamese culture. Hop into any food stall along street sides, exchange gestures with locals and point at whatever you would like to try but aren’t sure what they really are will be one of the Hanoi highlight on your holiday in Vietnam. Simply, they just look so flavorful and attempting delicious.

As a street food paradise, Hanoi’s old quarter has something special to showcase almost all day along. However, the best hours for a perfect street food tour are between 17 o’clock to 20 o’clock as at these hours the old quarter street area is at its peak vibe with all typical Hanoi signs and sounds. While tasting the local food you will get the chance marveling the city life at its most for your real Vietnam experience. Begin your Hanoi gourmet tour by walking through the Dong Xuan market’s behind area where you will see array of shops selling local spices such lemon grass, anise, cardamom and hundreds of other things which perhaps you would have never seen. Then turn into the very narrow Dong Xuan market lane, which is on the flank of the main market, where you would be amazed as you have the feel being just in the local food hub, the lane is jam - packed with so many  little food stalls selling all different type of street foods and Hanoi specialties. After journeying through for a quick overview you may want to return for particular trial for real taste. Just do as locals do pulling out a stool and point at what you want to try, a bowl of beef noodle or a skewer of barbecue pork with roasted sesame coating. Adventurous enough you may want to try noodle soup with deep fried eels! Why not?

Continue your journey to the further center of Hanoi’s old quarter and you will find your way to one of another Hanoi’s typical narrow lane of Ta Hien street which is again jam - packed with street food stalls. Along this street, keep an eye on looking for quails roasted in five spices. They are just such a yummy local delicacy! Finish your foodie adventure by a glass (perhaps two) of local fresh beer in the well- known Ta Hien Street, the Hanoi’s cosmopolitan beer corner.
