(San Francisco, Calif. – August 21, 2013) fiveTEN Oakland Events is ready rock and roll during Oakland Pride Weekend, Aug. 30 – Sept. 2, 2013.

 

Double Duchess and the Memorials headline fiveTEN Oakland Pride Weekend 2013 packed with live performances by Lila Rose, Aima the Dreamer, Raw G., Micah Tron, Billie Jr., Queens D. Light, and Zakiya Harris and Soul Nubian.

 

DJs FFLood, Fusion, HeyLove, Lady Fingaz, Lady Ryan, Leydis, Motive, Pam the Funkstress, Treat U Nice, Trinity and Val G will be getting the people hot and bothered on the dance floor throughout the weekend at three different dance parties, Kick Off Dance Party, WERQ! Vogue Ball and Sunday Music Fest and After Pride Party.

 

You won’t have to be up all night if you don’t want to be. fiveTEN will show off its pedal pride with the Second Annual fiveTEN Oakland Pride Ride in partnership with Binx Garage on Saturday, Aug. 31.

 

“I am very excited this year about fiveTEN,” said Christine De La Rosa, founder and producer of EDEN Pride Events, who believes the weekend’s line up of entertainment is “very unique, diverse and daring.”

 

Charleen Caabay, outreach director of fiveTEN Oakland Events, agreed, “It’s bound for like an epic weekend event.”

 

fiveTEN Oakland Pride Weekend 2013 get’s started right for one night only Oakland will get its Vegas on with Vegas dealer divas slappin’ those cards down on the table and turnin’ that wheel and rollin’ the dice at Casino Royal. Guests who get their tickets in advance will earn $100 in credit to play at the Blackjack, Craps, Roulette and more while DJs Val G, Lay Fingaz and Trinity will be getting the ladies going on the dance floor spinning the hottest beats 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Bridge at the Den, 1807 Telegraph in Oakland. Partial proceeds of this event will benefit the EDEN LGBTQ Youth Foundation.

 

“I am excited about being able to gamble on Friday at the Casino night I am a HUGE blackjack fan,” said De La Rosa.

 

But Sunday holds a special place in her heart.

 

“Sunday is a dream come true for me, an event that highlights our local musical artists while still staying true to our dance club roots,” said De La Rosa.

 

That’s just the beginning of the weekend that is set to dazzle. Get your vogue on Saturday night at the WERQ! Vogue Ball with Double Duchess and special guests Zakiya Harris and Soul Nubian at the New Parish, 579 18th St. Feed your soul at Sunday’s fiveTEN Music Fest and After Pride Party with The Memorials and a slew of amazing performers 7 p.m. – until the night is over at Oakland Metro, 630 3rd St., Oakland.

 

“Our musical artists are creating groundbreaking, forward moving music and the DJs we chose are DJs who push the boundaries of the crowds they are performing in front of,” said De La Rosa, “which I think will make for a very exciting experience for our guests.”

 

“It’s totally different. It’s something different from what usually is expected,” adds Caabay. “If you see the lineup it’s something like, ‘Wow!’”

 

Caabay and De La Rosa said that every year fiveTEN team works to make the weekend event and the events they produce throughout the year different and interesting for their guests.

 

“Every year we always try to bring something different,” said Caabay. “I think it’s a positive outlet for everybody in the community.”
