Air Vietnam tips on avoiding lost luggages

Typically, depending on the carrier, route and seat class, passengers will have the fee exemption standard of 20-30 kg when carrying out procedures. As Vietnam airlines, passengers will be exempted 20kg of baggage on Economy Class and 30 Kg on Business Class. The luggages undergoing the security checks will be tagged the luggage stickers by ground serving staffs. Besides, airline passengers will be issued to keep the stems having the same serial number with the ones written on luggages. At the final destination, passengers will be based on this number to get their luggages.

Normally, the probability of luggage losing is very small. However, the conversion of the aircraft or flight path (for the long or across the sea flights) can cause the luggages moving out of their journeys.

To avoid the misplacement when travelling on flights, passengers can follow the suggestions of Vietnam Airways:

- Your valuable items should not be put in checked baggages.

- Hand luggages carried on the plane have the dimensions not exceeding 56cm - 36cm - 23cm (length - width - thickness).

- The luggage blocked at the airplane exit entrance for the moving to the luggage chambers ( due to oversize and overweight) will not be compensated when losing or damaging.

- Hand luggages must not exceed 07kg per passenger on Economy Class and 14kg per passenger on Business Class.

- When passengers forget luggages on the plane or cannot find them on the baggage carousel, they can contact the ground handling staffs at lost luggage searching counters to carry out grievance procedures or receive baggages.
