Going on a cruise sounds like heaven for most people. You get to board a big ship that’s set out for an exotic destination and you spend your days enjoying the cruise facilities while seeing an entire horizon of ocean blue stretched out before you.

Sailing is also a preferred alternative for those who want to play a more active role in their vacations. Navigating your way around the big blue ocean and occasionally swimming in it can be great fun (and it can also give you a great tan).

So, why do a lot of people still hesitate to go on sailing or cruising vacations? Well, this sort of hesitation usually hinges on the fact that you usually have no control over who else comes along on the trip.

Fortunately, there is now a new form of sailing/cruising vacations on the rise. Through certain vacation agencies, you can book your own cabin charter. Carribean destinations can now be a lot more luxurious once you get onboard with people who share the same interests as you. Cabin charters make this possible by allowing you to choose what sort of cruise or sailing vacation you want to go on.  You simply have to fill out a form or questionnaire about your personal details (e.g., hobbies, interests, food allergies, etc.).

The company would then use the data gathered to match the sort of clients that end up on the same cabin charter. Carribean cruises are often a popular destination.  Those who are into a lot of outdoor water activities like swimming or sailing often end up grouped into such journeys.

These cabin charter vacations offer a great deal of flexibility and convenience for anyone who wishes to go cruising or sailing for the first time. Much of the guess work is taken out by the company as they suggest the ideal location or cruise plan for you and your group.

Other benefits that come with booking a cabin charter include the following:

  • They are more affordable. Chartering your own stateroom aboard a luxury liner cruise ship is often very expensive. Many people would like to experience having a vacation on such, but they often find it difficult to justify the cost.

Cabin charters, on the other hand, are held on smaller but no less luxurious boats. You too can charter your own personal cabin (which comes with its own bathroom) but at a fraction of a cost of the same on a luxury liner.

  • Cabin charters are more intimate. Unlike typical cruises with thousands of people onboard, cabin charters are restricted to far fewer people. And thanks to the communication channels set up by most cabin charter travel companies, you can even get in touch with your fellow travelers before the cruise begins so that you can all get to know each other a bit.

  • Most cabin charter cruises are guaranteed to push through. Whether they’re full or not and whether it’s sunny or raining, most cabin charter cruises will set sail as scheduled, giving you peace of mind that your vacation plans will commence as discussed.
