Called 1030a spoke with woman. Green Line tours. Ph..  39 064827480.  She advised 130p pickup in lobby for tour. They were there just a few mins after 130pm
Vatican city is separate from Italy. The Pope rules it.  Unfortunately he was not in the area the day we toured. We were told her was up in the North Country visiting his relatives.
Italy is a Catholic country where until recent times women would cover their heads when in church, whereas men had to remove their headcovers and go bareheaded. It's a matter of decorum which still holds. It might sound out of place, but it is not much different from having to remove your shoes when visiting Asian temples and mosques (where a dressing code is also implemented and where women must have shoulders covered and men in Long pants.
Met up with the bus about 150p and we waited for  the 230p departure tick tick tick tock. Cute quaint area just opposite the metro station Terimini where everything happens. Lots of restaurants, shops, Gelato stops…
230p AND WE Are off.

We dined the evening at Café Florian’s. AMAZING pizza’s and pasta, oh and I can’t forget to mention the wine. Shiraz red – was so good with the pizza!. Brushetta with Smoked salmon for apps.  The walk wasn’t bad from the hotel approx. 10 mins and quite honestly, it’s not scary outside in Rome. I did feel safe.
