Lonely Planet just published a fairly detailed overview of how to visit this otherworldly slice of Chile's north. This country is the major one still awaiting on my South America bucket list, and the Atacama with its salt flats, volcanoes, geysers, lunarlike landscapes, turquoise lagoons, and spectacular night skies in turn is a big part of that. This year or next, fingers crossed!!
