From the world's most famous technology corporations based in Silicon Valley to the international robot exhibitions in Tokyo, tourists are embracing the concept of tech destinations, almost as a sneak peak of the future.

London, UK: Currently rated as one of the best European cities for tech start-ups, London has been flirting with all kinds of gadgetry, turning restaurants and hotels into sets sets of futuristic movies. The London International Technology Show also attracts thousands of visitors, giving access to the latest gadgets.

Silicon Valley, San Francisco (U.S.): Located in northern California, this region has been home for some of the most famous tech companies such as Google, Oracle, Cisco Systems, Adobe Systems, Intel and Apple, making it the perfect 2.0 neighborhood. Exploring Silicon Alley means you'll probably find yourself having lunch at the same restaurant where some of the most creative ideas were pitched.

Tokyo, Japan: Since the 80s, Tokyo has been the headquarters of some of the biggest multinational companies, including Sony. What makes the city so appealing to tech-savvy tourists is the city's futuristic-like atmosphere and, let's face it, those vending machines, where you can get pretty much anything from eggs to neckties, are worth every snapshot!

Seoul, South Korea: With a population of over 10 million people, Seoul not only is the largest city in South Korea, but also plays an extremely important key role  being one of the most technologically advanced cities. A recent project is making sure that residents and visitors will have access to free wi-fi in outdoor spaces. This impressive (and expensive!) project will provide Internet access in thousands of parks and streets by 2015. Seoul is also the headquarters of companies such as Samsung and LG,.

Berlin, Germany: For the past few decades, Berlin has been healing its historical wounds, reemerging as a vibrant and modern city. Stepping into the 21st century in full force, it is now one of the most tech-friendly cities in Europe, and it's not surprising that the Chaos Communication Congress (a favorite among hackers and scientists) is held in Berlin. The success of audio distribution platforms like SoundCloud and Hype Machine also attracted larger companies to Berlin, receiving high praise for its availability of engineering talent.
