Boston's North End

The northern bulge of the city of Boston, the "North End," is the Italian district--some think of it as Boston's Italian Epcot.  Almost every restaurant is Italian.  The street signs are in Italian.  The bakeries are all Italian (connoli, taralli, biscotti, etc.).  Even the pharmacy is…

Visiting Nantucket

We stepped out from the tiny prop plane and I stood for a moment on top of the stairs breathing in the salty air of Nantucket, filled with the scent of Lilies and memories of teenage debauchery. The words from Diddy’s song, “Coming Home,” swimming in my head:

“Back where I belong, yeah I never felt so strong

I feel like…

The Taj: An Indian-Owned Hotel in Yankeetown?

I was there, January 11, 2007,  when the venerable Ritz-Carlton in Boston's historic Back Bay  was sold to the Taj Hotels and Palaces Of India, one of Asia's largest hotel company,

Bostonians, and much of the East Coast Establishment, cried "heresy."

A tradition and an emotional landmark was gone,… Continue

Northern Lights Come to New England

According to the local news the Northeast could get a fantastic show of Northen lights tonight or tomorrow night.

For those of us who are in the city, our views may be obstructed due to light pollution. However, out in the open air and mountains of places such as The Mountain View Grand the lights are sure to be breathtaking.

Therefore we are welcoming photos of the Northern lights to post on our Facebook page and give us city dwellers a view of this historical… Continue
