It's been a long time since I was in Budapest, so... if you like, you can put up a question on Ask a Travel Expert to find out what Magyar eateries Tripatinos recommend. What I do remember is that I loved the paprika and the Old World lard sauces and heavy spices... but after day 6, we actually went to Burger King for a change of pace and it felt like health food!

There's been a lot of goulash under that bridge, of course, so I expect by now there must be some very interesting dining options in Budapest... in fact, I'd be curious to hear if there is now a "nouvelle" Magyar and, if you try it, what it's like.

Look forward to hearing what you think of Au Coco de Mer, Monique. Apart from Créole cuisine, I also highly recommend Le Sinago (the Cambodian restaurant). It was superb.
