Wales is a great place for children! Very child friendly accommodation (check out www.underthethatch.co.uk for starters). Kids would love the King Arthur trail and also the associations with Merlin.
Wales has great kid friendly outdoors stuff too - riding, mountain biking, zip lining, exploring caves, great beaches (best in Europe) and the terrific challenge of the second language!
