Tough times largely behind it, this South American country is a stunner, from cosmopolitan Bogotá to the Andean cities of Cali and Medellín to the friendly Caribbean coast (especially the lovely preserved colonial quarter of Cartagena).

Not sure if anyone responded to Max's question yet (which i think is a very good one incidentally), but my response would be to always provide added value, ie: have excellent, forward-thinking assets publishers, hoteliers etc. want: unique images, v…

Profile Information

Are you in the travel industry or travel media? If so, please specify.
A veteran travel journalist, Eric regularly navigates the world in search of off-the-beaten path, unexpected and enlightening stories. In a career spanning over a decade, he has written for over 30 publications about everything from Bollywood’s film industry to Icelandic pop bands. He also co-founded the recently launched experiential travel blog, wandermelon.com. Accomplishing what many consider an impossible feat (at least according to an 80’s band), he also wrote a guidebook about walking his hometown of Los Angeles, “City Walks: Los Angeles.” Easily seduced by Argentine Malbec, a Pacific Island sunset and the feral beauty of Central America, he isn’t home all that much, but when he is, he enjoys puttering in his garden, sailing Southern California’s Channel Islands with uncouth libertines, and shopping at Trader Joe’s.

Good afternoon, Eric, and welcome to Go-Lo! It's wonderful to have you with us -- and we think you'll find our site productive as well as interesting and enjoyable.

To get the most out of the site, you may want to take a few minutes to join several of our many groups which you might find of particular interest, such as Media Only, California, Adventure Travel, Eating/Drinking the World, Spas, Splurges Extraordinaire, Wine Tourism, Sports, The Book Club, our Spanish Language/Culture Club, and various others covering many topics and most destinations throughout the world.

FYI, on your profile you'll see a blue bar marked "Text Box," which you can turn into a box containing not just text but also photos and even videos about yourself, your interests, and your web sites and book.

Finally, if you would, please be so kind as to spread the word among your travel-interested friends, family, and colleagues. For example, it's fast and easy to use our "INVITE" function above left on the navigation bar to enter e-mails (even your whole list at once!). And if you can cover Go-Lo in any of your outlets, that would be greatly appreciated.

We wish you a great rest of the summer, best of luck in 2009 and beyond, and look forward to hearing more from you... !
