Green and mountainous, with good skiing and other outdoorsy pursuits, especially on and around lakes like Winnipesaukee; there's even a sliver of seashore. Cities include Concord, Nashua, Manchester, and Portsmouth.
Cruising can be one of the most value-friendly vacations going. But how the heck do you choose from all the choices out there? Here are some resources (including non-traditional cruising, like freighters) and feedback.
Historic, cosmopolitan Boston's the Big Kahuna in America's most historic state, of course. But don't forget the beachy charms of Cape Cod and the islands, plus all the wonderful small towns across the state, from Cape Ann to the Berkshires.
It's almost Springtime in New England and there's energy and a sense of renewal in the air. My favorite time of the year, when new possibilities welcome those of us who have hibernated during the long winter season.
