Seeking the Answer to "Why do I Travel"

Posted on January 18, 2011 at 7:38pm 0 Comments

Some random thoughts about random events occurred to me today…

People ask me why I don’t like cruises or go on packaged tours.  Then I wonder why people in my area with limited time continue to spend every vacation they have getting drunk in Vegas and losing all their money.  I guess the answer for…

If you’re traveling in a wheelchair, getting around at your destination is a major concern. Yes, there are companies like Wheelchair Getaways that provide wheelchair accessible van rentals but they run around $100 a day, plus tax and mileage.

Luckily, one option is becoming more common in increasing areas of the…

Wheelchairs & Beaches Don't Mix...Or Do They? Long Beach, California

Posted on November 1, 2010 at 3:30pm 0 Comments

Beaches and wheelchair don’t usually mix. It’s very hard to get a 300 pound, electric wheelchair to move once it’s stuck in the sand. Some beaches have concrete or wooden ramps to the high-tide line but after that, you’re on your own. A few more beaches have special wheelchairs available for loan that a helper can use to get you to the water, but you can have a hard time finding anyone who knows…

Good morning, Darryl, and welcome to Tripatini! It's great to have you with us -- and we think you'll find our site productive as well as interesting and enjoyable.

To get the most out of Tripatini, you may want to take a moment to join several other of our many groups which you may find of particular interest, such as Media Only, California, Mexico, Museum Mavens, Eco/Sustainable Tourism, Travel Photography, Eating/Drinking the World, and plenty of others covering many other topics and most destinations across the USA, Europe, Asia, and the rest of the globe.

FYI, on your profile you'll see a green bar marked "Text Box," which you can turn into a box containing not just text but also photos and even videos about yourself, your travels, The World on Wheels, and more.

Finally, if you would, please be so kind as to spread the word among your travel-interested friends, family, colleagues, associates, and audience. It's fast and easy to use our "INVITE" function above left on the navigation bar to enter e-mails (even your whole list at once!). If you have the opportunity to cover Tripatini in any of your outlets, that would of course be great, and if you're interested in the possibility of occasionally blogging for us, guidelines/rates are available upon request.

Thanks much for joining us; we wish you a great rest of the holiday season and an outstanding start to 2010, and of course we look forward to seeing you online.

Cheers!
