You're so right ... having an upfront gate is another travel win! It almost never happens, either at departure or landing. Maybe it's too difficult to maneuver a plane into one of these upfront gates? It is frustrating, especially when landing back…

Here's another one: my gate is the first one at the beginning of the concourse. Of course, this has yet to happen. I only take flights that depart from the very last gate of a concourse. Which always makes me wonder: who ARE those people that take t…

I do not like the daily resort fees. They really add a lot of $$ to the bill and for many items that I do not use. And I really do not like the room service delivery charge added on top of the room service fee, both of which need to be supplemented…

Top 10 Mundane Things That Make Me a Happy Traveler

Traveling is not all about sightseeing, great restaurants and experiencing new cities. While these things are great and can make for really enjoyable travel, they are not always in the plans for weekly business travelers. We travel more often because we have to, not because we want to.

For those of us who travel routinely, it can sometimes be mundane things that happen to us along

Luggage Leaves Clues

I have always loved the saying of “Success Leaves Clues.” Here’s a new saying along that same line: “Luggage Leaves Clues.” What exactly am I talking about?

As I’m settling down to write this, I’ve just gotten into my comfy clothes…sweatpants and a t-shirt. Not just any old t-shirt, but a genuine SkyTeam t-shirt. I donned my slippers with the fancy ‘F’

How Do You Unpack After a Trip?

The most-viewed article on my website, SmartWomenTravelers.com is Top 7 Tips for Packing Your Suitcase. But unpacking my suitcase is actually a bigger chore than packing it! This got me thinking about the different ways that people unpack their suitcases.

Upon returning from a trip, my husband immediately (and I mean immediately!) opens up his luggage, gets his dirty clothes into the washer and totally empties out hi… Continue

Travel Tips for Road Warriors--and Hoteliers

I had a dream that it was already the end of 2010 and I was looking back at my year of travel. What I saw in my dream was a year where the travel industry really focused on female travelers.

I can feel the thick shampoo in my hair, the luxurious towels, a scent of lavender emanating from my plush pillow. I am healthier and fitter than I’ve ever been thanks to the Pilates and Yoga classes offered by hotels and the nutritional food enjoyed from hotel restaurants and mini-bars. I have numer… Continue

Good morning, Carol, and welcome to Tripatini! It's great to have you with us -- and we think you'll find our site productive as well as interesting and enjoyable.

To get the most out of Tripatini, we recommend you take a moment to join several of our many groups which you may find of particular use, such as Media Only, Women's Travel, Florida, Australia, Spas, Eating/Drinking the World, and plenty of others covering many other topics and most destinations across the globe.

FYI, on your profile you'll see a green bar marked "Text Box," which you can turn into a box containing not just text but also photos and even videos about yourself, your travels, your writing/outlets, and more. And if you have any books in print, we'd be happy to feature them on the site and sell them in our online shop.

Finally, if you would, please be so kind as to spread the word among your travel-interested friends, family, colleagues, associates, and audience. It's fast and easy to use our "INVITE" function above left on the navigation bar to enter e-mails (even your whole list at once!). If you have the opportunity to cover Tripatini in any of your outlets, that would of course be great, and if you might be interested in occasionally blogging for us, guidelines/rates are available upon request.

Thanks much for joining us; we wish you an outstanding start to 2010, and of course we look forward to seeing you online.

Cheers!
