It's dubbed "The Natural State" for a reason: the gorgeous nature in places like the Ozarks. Also of note: music festivals, Ozark folk traditions, thermal waters of Hot Springs and Eureka Springs, a touch of sophistication in capital Little Rock.
The birthplace of Mark Twain and Harry Truman offers nature (especially in the Ozarks); frontier, Civil War, and other history; country music (Branson); and big cities like St. Louis and Kansas City.
This Southwestern state boasts great skiing, tourism superstars like Santa Fe & Sedona, & Indian reservations & parks that are cultural & natural landmarks such as Chaco, Carlsbad, & El Malpais. Then of course there's Roswell and Los Alamos!
More and more, Fido and Fluffy have been coming along for the ride (and even the overnight). But if you've tried it you know how much complication and expense it can add. Here are ways to minimize both.
That Rocky Mountain high is still going strong in places like Denver, Aspen, Vail, Telluride, Boulder, and Colorado Springs. But there's also canyon/mesa country, plains, wine country, old frontier towns, and more.
It's where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain, but also where you'll find lots of frontier and Native American heritage, wineries, casinos, great state parks, and even a spot o' bright-lights-big-city in Tulsa and capital OKC (Oklahoma City).
Once its own country, Texas is far from a one-trick pony. The cool city scenes in Austin, Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio mix with wineries, beaches, Spanish missions, outdoor action, & lovely hill country. Plus, remember the Alamo?

Good morning, Blake, and a hearty welcome to Go-Lo! It's great to have you with us -- and we think you'll find our site productive as well as interesting and enjoyable.
To get the most out of it, you may want to take a few minutes to join several other of our many groups which you might find of particular interest, such as Texas, Missouri, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas, The Caribbean, our Spanish, Italian and French language/culture clubs, and plenty of others covering many topics and most countries throughout the Americas, Europe, and the rest of the world.
FYI, on your profile you'll see a blue bar marked "Text Box," which you can turn into a box containing not just text but also photos and even videos about yourself, your interests, your travels, and your writing.
Finally, if you would, please be so kind as to spread the word among your travel-interested friends, family, colleagues, and guests. It's fast and easy to use our "INVITE" function above left on the navigation bar to enter e-mails (even your whole list at once!). Naturally we'd be grateful if you have occasion to cover Go-Lo in any of your outlets, and we invite you to blog for us, as well (guidelines available upon request).
Blake, we wish you a great rest of 2009 and look forward to hearing more from you...!
