Nude Vacations

You might say this trend is "barely" growing, but that would be just for the sake of a bad pun. Nude beaches have been a European staple for years, and these days au naturel travel is kicking tush all over the planet!

Has anyone been to Paya Bay Resort in Roatan,Honduras?

I go to Roatan alot but mostly on the west side and a little in oak ridge.

But I have never been to that clothing optional resort. I was looking for reviews.

Thanks,-

Derrick

Florida's Pasco County (the Tampa Bay area) has voted to fund a campaign to promote itself as a nude vacation destination to 19 million German, Dutch, French, and UK nudists. According to The Australian, In 2008 the commissioners defeated a proposal to promote nudism, but this year the proposal didn't just win, but won 4:1. As Marvin Gay would say, What's goin' on?

I just added my 8 night Hedonism II resort blog here on Tripatini (but could not load photos except into my homepage albums. All in all, a solid "A" trip in a tropical paradise.

Interesting piece in today's Wall Street Journal (yeah, I know). Here's an excerpt:

Wearing Only a Smile, Nudists Seek Out the Young and the Naked
Changing the Demographic Is a Tough Sell...

"...Nudist resorts sprang up across the country. There are more than 250 today, plus cruises and other events making up a $440 million business, says the American Association for Nude Recreation.

But AANR and Naturist Society membership stopped growing years ago, mainly because many people now in their twenties and thirties don't appear interested in joining.

Young people have largely turned their backs on nudist camps, favoring instead public nudist spots like Hippie Hollow in Austin, Texas, Baker Beach in San Francisco or Haulover Beach in Miami, a "clothing optional" stretch of sand at the city's northern edge.

One reason: Private nudist clubs tend to be geared toward retirees.

Pools close at sundown. Body piercings are prohibited. Some older nudists complain that younger ones keep them up with late-night cavorting. Mostly, though, youngsters appear not to be eager to socialize regularly with folks the age of their grandparents.

So the AANR and the Naturist Society have asked their younger members to reach out to their peers and think of ways to make them feel that undressing in front of strangers is wonderful. Florida Young Naturists, Vita Nuda and other young nudist groups have since formed.

Vita Nuda organizes most of the young people who attend Nudepalooza each fall at the Cypress Cove Nudist Resort and Spa in Kissimmee, Fla., said resort owner Ted Hadley..."

Yiimtii Ecological Reserve has access to a secluded beach in which you can enjoy being nude without any worries...mexicans don't like nudism in general...of course there is also very near us Zipolite the 60's famous hippie beach.

Delvinus I'd thought that your posting it here meant that there were nudist resorts. Have you posted this in the tripatini surfers group? because maybe that's where it belongs.

Hi All,Yes, Mentawai is the world best surfing.Mentawai is a quite remote area and many island with no community in the island which the people can enjoy the beauty of the island by them self.

No malaria-prone.Yes few people got Malaria long time ago but Mentawai is not a Malaria-prone location.Mentawai got no special place for nudist also very lack of infrastructures but many natural place/islands (with no community) which maybe more natural to enjoy it.

e-mail on delsabolak@mentawaisurftravel.com for more info or to arrange your mentawais trip.
