Now on our blog: another look at "ice hotels." Brrrr!

The Silas Griffith Inn is proud to announce its New Summer mid-week specials - all King/Queen/Twin rooms just $99/night and still includes breakfast!  Enjoy hikes, shopping, museums, theater and more without the weekend crowds.  Or just sit and relax in this quiet Historic Inn/B&B in the quaint little village of Danby, Vermont.  Family friendly and pet friendly! Ask about other specials and weekly rates.

People will be able to book rooms and suites in Buckingham and Kensington palaces for the 2012 Olympics, says EasyToBook.com. How does a conventional hotel compete against that?

Greetings from Vermont and The Silas Griffith Inn.  We are a family owned and operated 10 room Inn and are pet friendly and family friendly.  We offer Wi-Fi (and have had wonderful comments about the "excellent" Wi-Fi and DSL) free movie rentals for your rooms, and a full, home-cooked breakfast every morning.  Since your meal is individually cooked with the freshest ingredients we can find, I can handle almost all requests, including low-sodium, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and many more.

We are offering 2 wonderful specials this spring.  And here they are:

Spring Clean Up Days at the Silas Griffith Inn!

Spring is coming, and even after such a lack of snow, there is still a lot to do to get ready for Summer including preparing the gardens, and repairing the ravages of Winter.  In exchange for your help with the clean-up, we’re offering all our rooms at Half-Price from April 1st, 2012 through April 30th, 2012.  To get your discount all you have to do is promise to help with the clean up during your stay.  And yes, your stay includes a full breakfast.

To get this special package, request the Spring Clean-up Package when you make your reservation for anytime between April 1st to 30th, 2012.  Call 1-888-569-4660 or e-mail stay@silasgriffith.com

Love Vermont?!?  Help Keep it Green and Clean!!! Green-Up Day is coming!

To celebrate Green-Up Day the Silas Griffith Inn is offering a May Special.

 All rooms ½ price May 1-10, 2012 with a little Green-Up Help.

How to help:  while you are visiting Vermont and traveling around, take one of our Green-Up Packs and pick up any trash you see.  The Green-Up Packs include the Official Green-Up Day bags and gloves for your protection.

To get this special rate, ask for the Green-Up Special when you make your reservation by calling 1-888-569-4660 or e-mail stay@silasgriffith.com

New Orleans hotels are jacking up prices for Mardi Gras; you can't even get a room in town for less than $300. But wait -- is this unethical pricing, or is it a legitimate response to the law of supply and demand?

I agree that WiFi is necessary. And, I'm starting to find that some are charging for it. Free or pay? What do you think?

A new survey of travelers and hotel executives finds that the most important hotel amenity for the U.S. traveler is wi-fi. Do you second that emotion?
