Backpackers & Hostels

It pretty much doesn't get more frugal than this. Even so, hostels these days can get surprisingly fancy!

Last September I had an amazing stay at the Banana Bungalow West Hollywood and I'm going back this year! I recommend this place to every hostel lover going to LA.

Happy New Year from the Silas Griffith Inn in Danby, Vermont!

We're located just 3.5 miles from the Mt. Tabor FR10 intersection of the Appalachian Trail and the Long Trail.  We're very hiker friendly, with room rates starting as low as $45/pp/do midweek.  We offer free Wi-Fi so you can update that blog, and a discounted laundry service to hikers!  Occasionally we are available to give rides to/from the trail, but serious advance notice is required.  We can also act as a mail drop for confirmed guests.  And you can soak away the pain in the outdoor spa/hot-tub from late April through October.

Happy Trails and we hope to see you this summer!

Never run out of money with a -reloadable currency card.  With high-street beating exchange rates it can be used globally and when the time come to add more all you need is an internet connection!

We're not a hostel, but we are a backpacker friendly B&B located near the AT/LT intersection on Forest Road 10 in Vermont.  We can work with most budgets, and can even arrange laundry and mail drops for our guests.    Plus, we're pet friendly if you are traveling with Fido!

Have a great hiking season, everyone!  Many trails are already accessible here in Vermont this early due to the unseasonably warm weather we've been having.

Hey everyone,

I work for a brand new social hostel booking company called inBed.me (http://inbed.me) and just wanted to let everyone know what we do. The site allows you to search hostels/guesthouses/b&b's and see who will be at each one before you book. You can also connect to plan trips and share tips. I'm also a travel writer and backpacker, so if anyone has any questions about the site or just hostels in general I'm happy to help! :)

Backpacking Europe doesn't have to be expensive.  I backpacked it for 14 months.  I know how to get free hotel rooms, work in hostels, volunteer for accommodation.  All the tricks.
