We are collecting the worlds local, ethical, awesome adventure sports holidays and accommodation under one roof.

Running as a not for profit, the mission is to advance conservation and sustainable development projects around the world by generating more business for the small initiatives, community tourism, not for profit and charity operations that cannot normally acccess a commercial marketing platform like this.

We are very excited to be participating in the Go Green Expo in Los Angeles later this month. Come by Booth #310 between January 22 & 24 at the Los Angeles Convention Center at 1201 South Figueroa St., South Hall J, and watch some terrific video of the eco-adventures we offer at Alderwood Retreat. Naturalist guided hikes, guided sea kayaking past bird rookeries and sea otter colonies, marine tours to see porpoise & whales, voluntourism projects like cleaning up our outlying beaches, historical & cultural tours, cooking classes, and SO much more are all available at our eco-lodge in the pristine Alaskan wilderness on Kodiak Island. South Africa must be the ultimate destination for Adventure Tourism! I'd like to raise awareness of a special fundraising trip that taking place in late February/early March. South America specialist Vaya Adventures is partnering with Chile-based Patagonia Adventure Expeditions on a special trip to the Aysen region of Chilean Patagonia, an area that is threatened by a massive dam project that would significantly impact the nature and human livelihoods of the region. The trip will trek through areas that would be flooded by the dams and raft down one of the rivers where the dams would be built. Proceeds will benefit International Rivers, one of the environmental organizations leading the campaign against the project. For more on the issue and the trip, please see my blog post on the topic.
