Check out our newly listed West Africa based unique adventure holidays that make a difference. Outdoor activities in Ghana involving jungle hikes, bike rides through beautiful countryside and exploring waterfalls or trekking through the sahel to discover mysterious tribes and relaxing on a Pinasse (locally built long boat) in Mali.... There is plenty to discovery on the West Africa Discovery website. Aiming to bring you unforgettable sustainable tourism holidays based in West Africa.

Hi All,

Just thought I would introduce ourselves....muchbetteradventures.com

We are collecting the worlds local, ethical, awesome adventure sports holidays and accommodation under one roof.

Running as a not for profit, the mission is to advance conservation and sustainable development projects around the world by generating more business for the small initiatives, community tourism, not for profit and charity operations that cannot normally acccess a commercial marketing platform like this.

Would love to hear from anyone who thinks they should be included.

We also have a monthly community e-mag dedicated to the world of sustainability and adventure. Do send us your news and reviews if you would like to be part of it.

Look forward to being connected.

Hey Tripatini,

You've forgotten BikeHike Adventures Inc. (http://bikehike.com) under the travel vendors list!

We are very excited to be participating in the Go Green Expo in Los Angeles later this month. Come by Booth #310 between January 22 & 24 at the Los Angeles Convention Center at 1201 South Figueroa St., South Hall J, and watch some terrific video of the eco-adventures we offer at Alderwood Retreat. Naturalist guided hikes, guided sea kayaking past bird rookeries and sea otter colonies, marine tours to see porpoise & whales, voluntourism projects like cleaning up our outlying beaches, historical & cultural tours, cooking classes, and SO much more are all available at our eco-lodge in the pristine Alaskan wilderness on Kodiak Island. This show is oriented by & for people who care about taking care of the environment, so there'll be lots to see! The first folks to e-mail us will recieve free passes into the show!!! Hope to see you there!

West Africa Discovery (www.westafricadiscovery.com) , a web portal aiming to raise awareness towards West Africa and to promote sustainable/responsible tourism development through the listing of tours, accommodations and volunteer projects that strive towards the fulfilment of criteria outlined in the Cape Town, Kerala and Belize declarations on responsible tourism practices in destinations (http://www.westafricadiscovery.co.uk/responsible-tourism.html). We also aim to make West Africa Discovery the first port of call in the UK for referring tourists to Western African based Responsible Tourism projects.

As a company we aim to help in the development of Responsible/Sustainable development in all West African countries by linking like minded people together to facilitate the sharing of ideas, educating by distributing Responsible Tourism related material to Tourism organisations and helping locally based individuals to develop ideas which will help to develop the concept in their country.

We are committed to putting West Africa on the map as a destination that tourists would like to visit, and our vision is that through the West Africa Discovery project the listed accommodations and tours will provide benefits for local communities whilst respecting the natural, cultural, social and historical heritages in the destination.

South Africa must be the ultimate destination for Adventure Tourism! Coupled with Responsible Tourism Practises you can travel here and enjoy a range of activities while contributing to the local & social upliftment! When visiting South Africa, whether you are young or old, there's an adventure option within your fitness range that will add a lot of fun to your stay in South Africa. There are plenty of activities to choose from and the choice is growing all the time. The daring, ultra-fit thrill-seekers opt for hair raising stunts such as bungee jumping, riding the rapids, diving with great white sharks,(www.whitesharkprojects.co.za) and leaping from the skies with parachutes strapped to their backs. Hikers follow adventure trails, climbers scale the mountain peaks, and anglers stand thigh-high in streams waiting for trout to snatch the fly.

I'd like to raise awareness of a special fundraising trip that taking place in late February/early March. South America specialist Vaya Adventures is partnering with Chile-based Patagonia Adventure Expeditions on a special trip to the Aysen region of Chilean Patagonia, an area that is threatened by a massive dam project that would significantly impact the nature and human livelihoods of the region. The trip will trek through areas that would be flooded by the dams and raft down one of the rivers where the dams would be built. Proceeds will benefit International Rivers, one of the environmental organizations leading the campaign against the project. For more on the issue and the trip, please see my blog post on the topic.
