Keshi Yena, an old staple of Curaçao slave cooking, delights visitors to this most interesting island. Basically it's a Gouda cheese rind (the cheese was eaten by the plantation owners and the rinds were left for the slaves) stuffed with spiced ground beef. It's a very unique dish with a real historic and local angle, maybe you could go to a local cooking school such as Angelica's Kitchen in Otrobanda and tape a segment making your own Keshi Yena?
